How does it work: 

Aptu operates before inference as an execution precondition causing drastic energy savings. 

Aptu Architecture: 

AI inference may only execute if a valid single-use execution permit issued under a declared charter accompanies the request. The Aptu system is capability-gated. 

Critical Property: 

The model endpoint refuses execution without a valid permit. 

Provenance Guarantee: 

Every permit issuance and denial produces a tamper-evident provenance record that allows construction and replay of AI behavioral history. 

Aptu delivers: 

Auditability, determinism, and replay capability. 

Deterministic Boundary: 

Once intent-attributes are established, charter enforcement and permit issuance are deterministic. 

Natural language cannot be deterministic, but control flow can be. 

Five Invariants: 

1. No inference without a permit. 

2. Each permit authorizes exactly one execution.

3. Permits are bound to a specific request context.

4. Every permit decision is recorded in provenance logs. 

5. Behavioral history can be reconstructed from the log.

Latency Envelope: 

Permit validation operates in constant-time relative to request complexity and does not require model execution. The model cannot execute unless it presents a single-use permit issued under a declared charter.
